You either hear it or you don't

As promised, the first surround mixes out of
United Western-Studio Seven, Inc.

The sound files on the next page are Dolby Atmos binaural outputs right out of Logic, which sound best in headphones but do sound better than stereo on any monitor speakers or systems. Even iPhones! The actual Dolby Atmos full files sound optimized on whatever size system they are played back on, as promised by the Dolby Atmos specifications.

The problem with most surround sound mixes so far is obtaining the presence of pop vocal mono and stereo recordings of the last century. Where lead instruments, drums, and vocals especially seem to be coming from exactly inside your head, as if you are the singer or drummer, especially in headphones. This is rarely achieved in most surround mixes, and the music can sound nebulous and indistinct as a result with a distinct lack of clarity of the individual elements and pop and presence of the important ones.

This is a problem we feel we have solved. Judge for yourself. And as always, if these files don’t sound better to your ears than the originals, do not hire us.

What We Do Vs. AI

AI can take a composers melodies and create a soundtrack mimicking any other soundtrack. It can also piece together pastiches of various soundtracks, change the melodies and chord progressions just enough to escape copyright infringement, filter them to mimic various recording periods, and come up with a soundtrack that will fool some people. However, it will not be an original composition written from scratch and will be in the end more derivative and generic than inspired. And so far, does not have that emotional punch and grab of original scores written specifically for unique scenes or all the elements that go into recording that music. You want music that improves the impact of a scene, not detract.

Our Process

What we do here is this, and no AI is involved. We take the timed midi file created by the composer, complete the orchestration as required by the composer/project, take that music and place it in virtual exact recreations of the greatest studios and recording rooms on the planet, fill them with the best virtual musicians available, the best mediocre musicians that fill out every real session, and even poor musicians that are in every large ensemble making the music human. We then mix this in the style provided in recordings by the director and the composer as to the era of the sound desired, as well as the era of the ensembles desired. From 1940's studio orchestras to full orchestras to rock and pop ensembles to mostly synth soundtracks. Per the demos on the music pages of this website ANY era and ANY ensemble can not only be nailed, but channeled more fully and improved.

How we determine pricing is this; you pay your composer, your sound designer (for sound effects). You determine your budget for orchestrators, copyists, studio rental, recording engineers, the recording studio itself, and all other fees in the soundtrack production (for example if you want us to incorporate the sound effects into our surround mixes or prefer to do that separately.) You take that cost, divide it by half, and that is our fee to deliver to you a soundtrack that in all actuality will end up sounding better than had you gone through the traditional process because of the far greater virtual control we have over every aspect of production from the acoustics of the room to the musicians, their relative level of ability, and their placement in the room, to the chair, bow, and page turning shuffle nosies to the vintage microphones used to the board and vintage outboard gear used to process and mix the soundtrack.

What we need is the timed midi file produced by the composer including the instruments desired, the sound efx (if you desire those incorporated, enhanced, and mixed) and we’ll do the rest. I can deliver most soundtracks in two weeks or less, depending on how much back and forth tweaking is required. We can and do work with anyone in the process, from the composer to the director.

Our Terms

We will need half the fee up front (as that is where the majority of the work is done, especially in scores that require significant orchestration expansion) and half on final delivery. A simple credit of Soundtrack Music produced by United Western-Studio Seven, Inc. is sufficient but negotiable.

The following tracks are copyright 2025 United Western-Studio Seven, Inc. The ones marked with an asterisk are all original midis and the midi files are copyright 1995-2025 United Western-Studio Seven, Inc. All eras and genres are represented.
